{ ME vs. debt }

ps. Thank you Colgate for the wonderful (albeit expensive) education. However, I am equally as thankful to finally done with my school loans. Hooray!

{ ebay round 413...and yes i'm selling my frye boots }

What is the world coming too? Listing what could be the coolest pair of boots ever made? I just don't wear them hardly ever. I know I probably should. I should rock them out with a cute pair of skinny jeans and a long tunic and be hip. But I'm not going to. I wear my yoga pants most days or my super comfy and not skinny joe's jeans. And I just have come to the realization that I don't NEED a HUGE closet full of stuff (just in case I might someday want to wear something again). I know what I like to wear and that isn't going to change. So, I've got some more lovely stuff up on my ebay shop. And I'm so so so so close to paying off my school loans ($15,000) with the ebay sold stuff to date. So close. So, who wants my loved Frye boots (size 7.5)? ;-)

{ spending hiatus - month 2 : week 2 }

Still going good on this front of no spending and simple family living - clearing out old stuff and NOT bringing in new stuff, working less/playing more...which is a pretty new concept for us! ;-)
I would like to buy this, this and this. But I'm holding out for now. I've still got some stuff up on ebay for my virtual garage sale - a random collection of sorts if any of you are actually shopping these day. How are you all doing?

{ virtual garage sale }

This is what I am going to do this rainy weekend in Colorado...sell stuff on ebay. This huge pile does not include the entire SUV pile of stuff that was donated last week to the VOA thrift store...I really did spend my 20's aquiring stuff and now am spending my 30's getting rid of it! I am re-inspired to de-clutter some more and clear out some more space after reading Andrea from Superhero Journal's latest post. Here's my favorite part of it... "And so I started my cleanse by clearing my physical space. I purged the heck out of it, selling everything I could, cleaning and organizing all the cluttered up nooks. I even pretended we were moving and considered each item with the same precise question, If we were moving right now would I bother putting bubble wrap around this and putting it in a box? I loved this task and felt like with every item I let go of, the more my mind could be clear, the more space there was to breathe." Aren't you inspired to create some breathing room too? All of you not doing the spending hiatus, stay tuned for more goods being added to my ebay account. Those of you on the spending hiatus, don't look! :) Hope you all have a great weekend! Stay tuned next week for a great guest post by Tara from Ink+Wit, more cheap summer fun ideas and some great giveaways coming up!

{ simple ME }

Been inspired to pare down our stuff yet again - I don't know where it ALL comes from! Looks like some of you are on a mission too (here and here). I've been going through each of our rooms this week (one at a time) and cleaning and decluttering them. I've been gathering stuff to donate (an entire truck load), sell and just chuck/recycle. I still have a ways to go but it feels so good to do this!
