Heart-rhythm meditation

What: A relaxation technique that synchronizes heartbeat and breathing, helping you gain control over your body's natural stress repsonse (eg. learn to calm a racing heartbeat).

How: Sit up straight, shoulders back. Empty your lungs with an extra long exhalation. Then inhale deeply and hold your breath whil putting your hand over your heart to feel it beating. Silently and smoothly exhale for the length of six hearbeats; then inhale for the lenght of six more. Repeat for several minutes when you feel stressed out.

Goal: Be more aware of what your breath and body are doing throughout the day.
