{ feed ME }

This is a pretty simple but oh so important concept to remember as you plan your weekly meals, grocery shopping outings and back to school lunches. The key here is {don't buy the crap}. If you have a bag of Oreo's in the pantry, there is just not enough WILL POWER to stay away from it. But if there aren't Oreo's and there is only a bowl of fresh fruit, you'll be FORCED ;-) to grab and apple. The same goes for kids food. Until they are old enough to go to the store and buy their own food, there is no reason they should dictate what is brought home from the store. I hear countless times a day, "But my kids only eat hot dogs, chips and popsicles." WHAT?!?@?! I guarantee you that if you stop buying that crap and put REAL food in front of them, sooner or later they are going to start eating what is available. They won't starve until they figure it out. So, bottom line, just don't buy it in the first place. Stock your home with REAL food, fruit, veggies, etc.

By the way, have you read Kim Snyder's The Beauty Detox Solution? I'm thinking it's pretty brilliant.

I completely agree! People wonder how I got my girls to eat hummus and sushi rolls ... well, it is what eat and role modeling is huge when it comes to kids and healthy eating. Thanks for just telling it like it is!
