{ my LAZY weekend with edward }

I had all sorts of plans and things to do this weekend {work on garden, clean out shed, catch up on orders, clean the kitchen, go on a long bike ride, go to yoga class, go to the farmers market, take sam mini golfing, etc...} I did NONE of these things because I was reading the Twilight books. OMG. I have been bitten big time by the mania of the Twilight series thanks to my BFF Lisa who loaned me her books. Damn her! DAMN HER! She warned me but I did not take her seriously. “Yeah, right, like I’m going to read these huge, long books about vampires written for teen girls? I have way to much going on in my world with 2 kids, 3 businesses and not enough time in the day. No way do I have time for this trival vampire crap." Then, I saw the movie, and then I picked up the first book...and then watched the movie again...and then the second book...and then the third. BAM! Minutes turned to hours, turned to days, turned to an entire weekend. I hardly slept. I ate applesauce and goldfish all weekend. My family was neglected, my household duties put on hold, my to do list down right ignored. I didn't go out in the sun. Edward and Bella are my TOP priority - well, the kids too, but only when Will was unable (or unwilling) to tend to both of them at the same time. I’m 300 pages away from finishing the last book in the series, Breaking Dawn. The family is no longer cooperating. They want dinner and the children need baths and the house needs some cleaning. But the books are almost over and now I’m panicking! What will I do with myself when the books are done? Will she write more and SOON? When does the next movie come out? This is bad. This is real bad. My husband thinks I've lost my mind...and maybe I have. But, you know what? I don't care. It's been a long time since I sat on my A@# and did ABSOLUTELY nothing but read and daydream. Thank you Edward for providing ME with a fabulous excuse to live in lala land for a little while. My Monday morning reality check will be here soon {gulp}. I'll be back posting soon once I can think about something else other than HIM. {yes, I went to a fan website about him.}

i refuse to even read those books. mostly because everyone else is reading them. maybe someday i will read them.

you know, sometimes you need a weekend like that where you just neglect everything for a few days. i mean, really. you're children aren't starving or running around naked right??? then they're fine. happy reading!!!!!

xxoo, Lisa

PS - I love Edward. I think I need to start a support group for self-made women over 30 with children who have dropped everything for this man. Oops. Vampire. Have I told you I love Edward?

I KNOW --- Carolyn, Lisa & Amy - It is crazy - I can't stop thinking about him! ;) I do need a support group stat! TJ - the children were semi-neglected and yes, were running around naked but that's par for the course around here! I was not a great mom this weekend! I was too engrossed in the books!!!!

And THAT, my friend, is why I won't be reading any of those books soon! Too addictive.

Good luck with going "cold turkey - no more Twilight."

Yes, I got bitten by that bug too. Finished all 4 books in a week and completely neglected every member of my family. Sad, but true.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog - so glad you did as now I found yours!

oh, dear. my husband is gone for a week or so. I better stay far away from those books or my kids will be starved.

Denise - No, it's a perfect time to read them as your husband won't be around to make FUN OF YOU! ;-)

You know Jenny I read all 4 books in a month. I am still having an affair with Edward and I hope it never ends. They sell posters at Wal-Mart and Blockbuster and if I werent a married woman with kids I would plaster them all over my bedroom walls for sure. This is a sickness!

I'm with you - addicted, in love and shameless - even though it took me ages to admit it to my friends who think I'm more literary than Twilight. :) I think I can be both, don't you?

Lea-Ann - That cracks me up that you've read them too! And I agree about the posters! Melissa - I think you can LOVE the twilight books AND read the classics - for sure! I don't think I'll be buying any more books in the young adult section now that I'm done with the twilight saga, you know what i mean? ;-)
