{ unclutter your life in one week...+ giveaway }
I had the pleasure of reviewing Erin Doland of Unclutterer fame's recent book, Unclutter Your Life In One Week...A 7-Day Plan to Organize Your Home, Your Office and Your Life! While I don't think I am the target market for this book (as I already aim to be uber-organized and know where to start on additional organizing & decluttering projects) I enjoyed the book and even learned some new tips including additional functionality of google's online calendar - entering in birthdays to it (and setting it to repeat every year). I also like how it is broken out into cleaning tasks for the busy person, the dedicated cleaner, and the overachiever. {Yes, I know what category I fall into it! ;) }
The book takes you through 3 tasks each day - one for the home (am), one for your office (to do during the day while at work), and one at home (in the evening). For example, on Tuesday morning, you focus on your bathroom - organize it, clear the cabinets, etc. While at work you set up a good filing system and create an order for your papers. On Tuesday evening you designate household chores among family members, set up a routine that works for you & your family and schedule in a day to run errands (or hire help).
I do know that some of you, my dear readers, could use this book, based upon the questions I get each week - ranging from "where do I start?" to "I am starting to feel like a hoarder...will Oprah come to my house?" And since I know many of your new years resolutions involve getting more organized than this book is for you. And I am giving away a copy! And I'll throw in some other organizing goods from LobotoME along with it. All you need to do is leave me a comment (by Monday morning) about why you NEED it. I'll announce the winner on Tuesday.
* The winner of the Unclutter Your Life in One Week giveaway is Maggie S. who declared her New Year's Resolution as The Great Purge of 2010. Maggie email me and send me your mailing address!

I am on my way...I got your mom planner for Christmas and LOVE IT!...but I need to take the next step...I am sure this book would help me! Feeling lucky!
I'm reasonably certain this book was written specifically for me. I can do a lot of things well, but managing clutter is not one of them.
I would love some guidance in this area. We simplified quite a bit in the past year. It was more due to *having* to though. It's been hard to stay with the simplified, uncluttered day-to-day lifestyle.
Thanks for the giveaway opp!
OK, I'm intrigued. I think I'm fairly organized, but the clutter is what derails me! I think the only way I could conquer it in a week is with the book and a small army . . . but regardless, I'm motivated to attempt it! :-)
Definitely love keeping a schedule and clean house but can't keep the clutter bug away. Would love to lose it all if I knew some way to do it.
I so need this book, expecting in July, for a baby we have tried many years for, with a few losses, i did not feel i should get anything ready. Let's just say i have loads to do upstairs and quite honestly in all areas of my life.
Love your blog!

Oh wow, I need that because my house and life is a disorganized mess! I feel like the more I clean, the messier it gets because I'm not as efficient as I need to be. And when I do clean, I attempt to do everything at once, which is probably why I'm not efficient!
Hey, just wanted to say, I got your package yesterday and LOVE my MOM planner and grocery check list. Can't wait to get my life in order!
I have been very busy in my work and personal life and I am not myself anymore, I wish to have a guide to help me through and start fresh. I hope I win so I can get my life back on track!!
I am a busy mother of four wonderful kids. I also help my husband run his orthodontic practice. I use to be a lot more organized, but would love some good reminders and solid ideas. By the way...I received your fundraiser packet today and am so excited. I hope the PTA president will feel the same way. Thanks!

I am one of those people that tries and tries to organize, but somewhere it always goes wrong. Right now I'm trying to organize and de-clutter our entire house in preparation for a military move overseas. I think this book could do wonders in helping me. :)
LOVE this book and would love to add it to my home library!
count me in. I love a new book any day of the week.
Not sure there is hope for my clutter
so i am pretty organized, i don't have piles of stuff laying around but if you open my linen cupboard watch out. same with the desk and craft area. i am terrible with deep cleaning and my inbox is always way too full...plus I keep a stack of "to-do's" next to the computer but the pile rarely dwindles. ack.
I went back to work full time after working from home and I am having a hard time finding time to clean and keep things organized - I would love this book.
I've been trying to comment on your blog all week but I couldn't get on until tonight! Just in time for a giveaway! Please sign me up, especially for the LobotoME goods!
I am a busy mother of 3 teens --and then I have my DH who acts like a 2 year old---he leaves things everywhere. If it's not in his wallet he has no idea where it is--and when he looks for things he forgets to use his eyes--I'm constantly summoned to find something that is right in front of him! I also have the belongings of
a dozen people--I need this!

My New Year's Resolution was declaring The Great Purge of 2010. I live in a small, old bungelow with a 13-month old (lots of baby stuff), two dogs, two cats, and a crazy music-and-film-loving husband whose collection of media (thousands. . .no, tens of thousands of CDs, DVDs, LPs, videos, comic books, newspapers stacked in every previously bare spot in my house. . .) makes Emelda Marcos' shoe purchasing habits seem totally normal. And I work from home. I need all the help I can get!
I think this book would change my life haha. if you saw my bedroom and bathroom, oh there would be no question why I need it. It's actually quite sad how unorganized I actually am. Drawers with things just thrown in...piles of papers. its quite terrible.
I definitely need help with having a routine/schedule for getting organized and cleaning. I am always trying to "purge", but getting those disaster areas that are left organized is tricky for me. I'm always looking for more good ideas! I'd love a copy of the book.
I would love to unclutter! I can't give up hope! somthing is going to help me.
well hello! Um...the year of organizing inside and out. That to me is what 2010 is all about, so what better of a book to win for me!
Ha Ha!

Because clutter makes me confused and unproductive. De-cluttering makes me see!
I need this because I am trying to break a family curse of being a pack rat. Thanks for the chance

I need it because I have an intense desire to declutter, but have no idea where to start. I just moved a few months ago, and I was absolutely appalled by how much STUFF I had. I threw away a truckload, but I know there is more I can purge from my life and my home! I want to go home and not have to worry about where stuff goes; I just want to enjoy a clutter-free home.

I need this because the top of my dining room table that can actually be seen is dwindling:)
Although I enjoy some aspects of my ADHD, others cause me headaches! Not being a great master of my clutter is one of the pain-inducing! This book has me intrigued. Trying and finding new systems that get me organized and are relatively easy for me to maintain, has grown from an annual resolution to a life-long quest!
I need to unclutter my life! I'm working on doing it on my own, but a little push from a good book never hurts : )
Thanks for hosting such a cool giveaway!
