{ simple, green christmas }

Love the eco-friendly Christmas ideas from the December issue of Body & Soul Magazine...one of them is to make your own ornaments instead of buying them...we are going to make these dough ornaments this weekend.

Dough Tree Ornaments

1. In bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 2 cups salt, and 1 cup water.

2. Stir, and then knead into a ball.

3. Roll out dough to a 1/4-inch thickness.

4. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters, and poke a hole through the tops with a pencil.

5. Bake on a greased cookie sheet for 20 minutes or until hard.

6. Loop a ribbon through hole and tie a knot.

Thank you for the reminder on how to make fun ornaments! I did this with my niece over the weekend and had a great time! We added cloves to the mixture, so the house smelled great while cooking, and the ornaments add a hint of clove to your Christmas tree! Merry Christmas!

Oh I'll have to pick this issue up before it leaves the newstands!

Did you guys end up making them? Looks like a really fun and rewarding project. Would love to see pics if you're pleased with how they turned out!
